The 59th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 23rd April 1867 over the Rowley Mile, was Vauban (5/2 fav), a bay colt by Muscovite out of Palm, owned by the 8th Duke of Beaufort. The winner won by 2 lengths in 1 minute 50 secs, with a head back to the third. A field of 18 runners contested the race which was worth £4,850 (Equivalent to £528,700 in 2017)
